A big part of wedding planning is deciding where you want to have your wedding. What is the perfect setting for your dream mandap? Have you considered the type of wedding vibe you want to create and the type of venue you might choose?

Are you thinking of an outdoor wedding and does your venue have good options for Plan A, and a suitable Plan B should it pour down? I mean, let’s face it, the British summer has been disappointing this year and I can’t begin to tell you the number of brides that have had to switch to Plan B due to rain and winds!

Here are my top 20 decor-related questions for you to ask / consider when attending a walk-through of a potential wedding:

  4. What is the floor to ceiling height measurement?
  5. Where do brides usually place the mandap?
  6. Who will layout the chairs and tables?
  7. What access options are available for my chosen suppliers?

Venue stage

  1. Does the venue have a stage?
  2. What is the size of the stage? (Height, Width and Depth)
  3. Are there any restrictions on covering the stage?

Venue restrictions

  1. Are naked flames allowed?
  2. Is a havan fire allowed for Hindu weddings?
  3. Are there any supplier restrictions?
  4. Are there any restrictions on hanging floral installations / lights?

Venue lighting

  1. What lighting options are there in the chosen event space?
  2. Are different lighting colours an option?
