How much creative licence can I have with your mandap design?

I absolutely love working with brides that give me creative licence. Or even a little opportunity to experiment with mandap design to create a masterpiece. These are our best events by far!

Back in summer last year, our bride and groom did just that. After a message on instagram, we had a chat. We explored her ideals and her vision for her wedding mandap design. The wedding was to be held in the height of summer, in July, at Alrewas Hayes, a Grade II-listed getaway dating back to 1066, and was even noted in the infamous Domesday Book. Over the years, this hidden gem has been home to five generations of the Williams family.

Our brides mandap was custom designed in the following way:

1. • Together we chose the style, a wooden frame to be adorned with flowers, sitting on a stage. 
   • The thickness of the wood was recommended by ourselves and agreed. 
   • We chose the colour of the wood, the style of the draping and the final floral design for both the mandap and the aisleway entrance.
   • I attended a site visit and met with Bonnie. She walked me round the venue and we discussed potential alternative options on where the wedding ceremony could take place to ensure the best photographs. 
   • On the day, I had creative license to work with the sketches and designs we’d discussed and make choices to bring the vision to life. Floral is always different and adjustments are made based on what looks best as the mandap goes up.

Alrewas Hayes, is a beautiful venue with gorgeous land in front for a small intimate wedding and that’s exactly where the decor was all set-up. With less than 50 guests, the wedding was perfect. Very intimate and personal.
