ELEVATE YOUR WEDDING RECEPTION: TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE PERFECT CENTREPIECE
Your centrepieces are an important element of wedding decor and can really set the tone for the entire reception. However, with so many options available, it can be difficult to decide which style is right for your wedding. So, to help you with your wedding planning, in this blog post, I will share some tips on things to consider when choosing your centrepieces.
THEME AND STYLE OF THE WEDDING
When choosing centrepieces, it is important to consider the theme and style of the wedding. Are you having a rustic, vintage, or modern wedding? Your centrepieces should complement your overall wedding style and not clash with it. For example, if you are having a rustic wedding, you may want to consider centrepieces with natural elements like wood, greenery, and wildflowers.
VENUE SPACE
The size and layout of your reception venue should also be considered when choosing centrepieces. If you have a small venue, tall centrepieces may be overwhelming and take up too much space. On the other hand, if you have a large ballroom with high ceilings, tall centrepieces can add drama and elegance to the space instead.
In addition, you may find that a large space with identical centrepieces for each table can create a “flat line” across your room. Therefore, opt for a mix of short and tall centre-pieces (two or three options should be enough) to add some depth to the room and create a softer ambience.
BUDGET
Centrepieces can range from simple and affordable to extravagant and expensive. So, consider your budget when choosing centerpieces and decide what is most important to you. If you are on a tight budget, simple short centrepieces with candles or small floral arrangements can still be beautiful and elegant.
When speaking with your decor company about centrepiece styles, tell them your budget or the range you would like to work within. This can help them to identify flower types or designs that will work within your theme but also match your budget. I always say transparency is key to bring your dream vision to life!
GUEST SEATING ARRANGEMENT
Remember to consider the guest seating arrangement when choosing centerpieces. Tall centrepieces may obstruct guests’ views of each other and the wedding party. This can be a problem if you want your guests to interact and socialize during the reception. If you are set on tall centerpieces, consider alternating them with short centerpieces to create a more balanced look. Or, you can also include tall centrepieces that have “clear” space at eye level (e.g. the gold metal floral stands) so guests can engage and interact. The florals will be sat higher than their line of vision.
In conclusion, choosing centrepieces for your wedding is an important decision that should be carefully considered. Think about the theme and style of your wedding, the size and layout of your reception venue, your budget, and the guest
