Designing for Impact: Our Stunning Mandap in the Nash Conservatory
As wedding planners, we often face tight deadlines and challenging scenarios where we need to design and set up a stunning wedding experience. One example of this was the opportunity to create a wedding mandap in the Nash Conservatory at Kew Gardens. We were allocated just two hours to unload our vehicles and set up the mandap within the conservatory. While this can sometimes be challenging, our systems, processes and team ensured we created a memorable experience for the couple.
Stringest requirements
Kew Gardens is a unique venue and imposes strict regulations on wedding suppliers to ensure the safety of guests and to protect the historic building. We had to meet a number of requirements. These included providing a detailed risk assessment, public liability and indemnity insurance, and floor protection to prevent any damage to the venue flooring.
Processes such as these is something we are very comfortable with as a team. And, despite these requirements, we were able to create a beautiful mandap that reflected the couple’s South Indian cultural traditions. We used a vibrant color palette of oranges, pinks and yellows in the floral arrangements and drapery to create a stunning, vibrant space.
POP OF COLOUR
We worked quickly and efficiently, assembling the mandap piece by piece to create a breathtaking space with a strong pop of colour. We checked every detail to ensure that everything was securely in place and that the mandap was stable.
The end result was a popping mandap that the happy couple and their guests absolutely loved. Despite the challenges of working within the strict regulations of Kew Gardens, we were able to create a memorable and unique wedding experience that truly reflected the couple’s cultural traditions.
In conclusion, designing and setting up a wedding mandap is no easy task, especially when working within the strict regulations of a venue like Kew Gardens. However, with the right planning and execution, it’s possible to create a memorable and beautiful space that everyone will love.
